Google Testing More Detailed Play Store Search Results

Google seems to be in the process of testing a new layout for the Play Store which places a greater emphasis on individual apps in search results. In short, while most users will see a list of apps returned when performing a search in the Play Store, some users are now seeing a less number of apps returned for the same search. Although, they are seeing more information about those apps.
This is due to the use of more of a card-like design, where as a result, the new layout not only includes the same information as the current layout (such as the name of the app, the maker of the app, the app icon, and the app's rating), but also additional information and assets, including how many people have rated the app and also how many downloads the app has to date. In addition, small screenshots of the app are also being shown.
These additional aspects - namely, the screenshots - evidently impacts on the size of each listing, and this then has the knock-on effect of reducing the number of apps...
