Samsung compares its newest flagship to a 4-year-old iPhone and finally wins

8 monthes ago   |   By TheBoyGeniusReport

With Apple and Samsung currently duking it out in court - yet again - over damages stemming from their 2012 lawsuit, Samsung today rolled out a new ad which pokes fun at the iPhone X notch and the "Batterygate" saga that embroiled the company late last year. The commercial is incredibly well done and even ardent iPhone supporters have to concede that Samsung's advertising efforts are some of the best in the business.
As to the "Batterygate" saga, you might recall that Apple late last year admitted to throttling performance on older iPhone models in an effort to prevent unexpected...

New Samsung ad is all about Apple's iPhone throttling mess

New Samsung ad is all about Apple's iPhone throttling mess

8 monthes ago   |   By The Verge

Months after the controversy made headlines and angered consumers, Samsung is only now getting around to trolling Apple for throttling iPhones. A new commercial tells the familiar tale of many Samsung ads: an iPhone user gradually becomes so fed up with Apple's phone that they ultimately make the switch to the latest Galaxy device, which in this case is the Galaxy S9.
The minute-long spot aggressively hammers on Apple's decision to throttle performance of iPhones containing older batteries. Our tortured iPhone owner is too slow to pull up her boarding pass in the Wallet app. (Who waits...

Samsung takes a shot at iPhone battery fiasco and iPhone X notch in new ad

In typical Samsung fashion, the South Korean smartphone manufacturer has released a new ad that takes clever shots at the company's most significant rival, Apple. The ad, called ‘Moving On,' is a follow-up to last year's ‘Growing Up' campaign , and features Samsung poking fun at recent controversy surrounding the Cupertino, California-based tech giant's ‘batterygate' fiasco, as well as the iPhone X's controversial notch. The ad focuses on a woman going on a long distance trip where her travel plans repeatedly get messed up by her iPhone 6's slow performance. The woman's frustration is...

Samsung's Galaxy S9 ad takes iPhone potshots - but is it realistic?

8 monthes ago   |   By SlashGear

Samsung loves taking pot-shots at Apple, though it's fair to say that its commercials can be more memorable for how readily they backfire than how convincing they are. In the company's newest advert, titles “Moving On,” Samsung is unsurprisingly making the argument that it's time to upgrade to a Galaxy S9. It just so happens - what a great surprise...

Samsung's new Galaxy S9 ad pokes fun of Apple for iPhone 'battery gate'

8 monthes ago   |   By TechRadar

Samsung wants iPhone fans irritated by the poor performance of their older Apple devices to upgrade to a supposedly problem-free Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus. That's the pitch of its new "Moving On" ad, a follow-up to its memorable Growing Up commercial that poked fun of the iPhone X notch, complete with a notch haircut. Battery gate is the butt of the joke this time, depicting a woman struggling to cope with a severely slowed down iPhone 6 while observing care-free Galaxy owners. Apple was confirmed to be slowing down older iPhones in an effort to avoid rapid battery depletion and...

Latest Samsung Galaxy S9 video ad throws a barrage of jabs at Apple's old and new iPhones

8 monthes ago   |   By Phone Arena

Samsung has never been afraid to take jabs at Apple, but its latest video ad for the Galaxy S9 can be safely presumed a clear declaration of war.
The spot called "Moving On" depicts the daily struggles of a woman struggling with her dated Phone 6. Slowdowns, no waterproofing, and general software inconsistency are a couple of the maladies that seemingly hurt the poor damsel in distress.
The video ad culminates when the device gets taken to an Apple Store, where an Apple Genius inquires the woman if she has been thinking of upgrading to the ...
