Twitter's new beta app will test changes to conversations and engagement

Following a tease of some new Twitter features at CES 2019 in Las Vegas, Twitter's director of product management Sara Haider sat down with TechCrunch to show off some new features the company has in the works. The new features include colour-coded and algorithmically sorted replies, as well as changes to engagement - like removing the favourite button. The updated featureset will be part of a new beta program Twitter plans to launch in the coming weeks. Two months ago, news about a new feature that WhatsApp was testing emerged online - the option to privately reply to someone in a group chat. However, our report only mentioned the feature was meant to be brought to Android users first since this is the platform that WhatsApp was testing it for.
Well, it looks like iPhone users have just received the new feature in the latest update. According to the changelog, WhatsApp now allows iOS users to reply to a group message privately in a 1:1 chat. Simply tap and hold a message in a group chat and select More / Reply Privately.
