Cricket's Top Unlimited Plan No Longer Throttles Users By Default

Cricket Wireless recently refreshed its service plans with a new feature to its best unlimited option. Notably, the $60-per-month Unlimited Extra plan is no longer subject to the carrier's 3 Mbps speed cap. Prior to this change, all Cricket's Unlimited plans were capped at speeds of 3 Mbps. Cricket is now advertising the Unlimited Extra as including "fast 4G LTE data." Even so, the small print warns that subscribers to the new plan may be subject to temporarily slowed data when the network is congested. Further, video streaming is capped at 1.5 Mbps, or SD quality.
