One of the biggest companies on the planet, Amazon, looks like it's extending its reach to yet another sector. The Information reports today that the retail giant is looking to launch its own game-streaming service. Deadline backed up the report with a report of its own that claims the project exists within Amazon right now. Deadline also reports that Amazon is currently speaking with publishers to distribute their games on the untitled Amazon game-streaming platform. Amazon has serious ambitious to do more around video games, with a plan to expand in a big way its existing identity as a retailer of titles as well as the owner of Twitch, the most prominent game livestreaming service in the world.
That's according to a new report via The Information , the Internet retail giant is joining the growing list of companies that want to build what's essentially a Netflix for video games. It looks like Amazon wants to get into the streaming games business. Following a report from The Information , which claimed Amazon is developing a cloud-based gaming service, The Verge noticed an Amazon job posting for a “Lead Cross Platform Game Engineer". The listing says the company has a new game business currently in the works and even mentions the job will involve working on AAA games.
