YouTube Gaming app will be shut down in March

A little more than three years after the launch of YouTube Gaming , it's been revealed that the app is shutting down.
YouTube today said that it's launching a gaming-focused destination on its service at youtube.com/gaming, and as a result, it's shutting down the YouTube Gaming app in March 2019. The new gaming section of YouTube will show personalized gaming content based on what you like, top live games, and the latest gaming videos from your subscriptions, as well as dedicated sections for live streams and trending videos.

There's a new place to watch all of your favorite gaming YouTubers.
Back in 2015, Google launched its YouTube Gaming app to give gamers their own platform for separate features like Game Pages, Super Chat, and Channel Memberships. Since then, many of those features made their way to YouTube as a whole, and it seems as though YouTube Gaming no longer needs its own standalone app.

Google today announced it's shuttering YouTube Gaming, replacing it with a page on the main site. The company is hoping that the Gaming page, while not very dissimilar to the Gaming site, will help bring more viewers and content creators together now that they aren't being forced to shuffle between two sites.
