Fortnite's concurrent players now number over 8.3 million

Epic Games revealed in a recent interview that the concurrent player count of the world's most popular game has now climbed into truly dizzying numbers - most likely because of its recent debut on the Korean market. Epic Games Korea's CEO, Sung Chul Park told Korean news site Inven that Fortnite now has over 8.3 million concurrent players. I feel like that number bears repeating: 8.3 million. Fortnite is still blowing up.
Fortnite is a free-to-play third-person shooter with building mechanics. The title has become a cultural sensation due to its unique blend of expressive gameplay. Back in February 2018, Epic Games stated that the title was played by roughly 3.4 million gamers concurrently. Since then we haven't heard much about the game's figures, and many assumed that it's popularity was affected by other battle royale titles on the market.
