Reflections on E3 2018

After taking a year off, I returned to E3 this week. It's always a fun show, in spite of the fact that the show floor has come to rival Comic-Con in terms of the mass of people the show's organizers are able to cram into the aisles of the convention center floor.
We've been filing stories all week, but here is a very much incomplete collection of my thoughts on this year's show.
Zombies are still very much a thing

Ask me my favorite demo of E3 2018 and I've got a lot of answers, even after two days. Cyberpunk 2077 was incredible. Metro Exodus made me want to play for 30 more hours, at least. Assassin's Creed: Odyssey has a lot of potential. But I'd also be tempted to say the Xbox Adaptive Controller. Microsoft's E3 2018 from the Xbox division was a huge hit, dominating social media metrics, showcasing the best that the industry has to offer. Why can't the rest of Microsoft do that?
One of the big conversations we often have among Microsoft fans is, "Is Redmond really pro-consumer?" At least one division showed that passion at E3 2018 , as the Xbox team led by Phil Spencer showcased a huge investment roadmap in new Xbox hardware, new Xbox technology and features, and new Xbox software in the form of games.
