Google will announce a wide release of the first stable version of ARCore at this year's Mobile World Congress, Variety reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the company's plans. Originally unveiled in late August, ARCore is Google's development tool for augmented reality applications on Android devices, being meant to enable AR experiences on a broad range of smartphones. After initially debuting alongside the update to Android 8.1 back in December, Android Oreo is finally about to appear on its first devices.
Google says that the first Android Oreo phones will be introduced next week at MWC 2018. The devices will go on sale "soon after".
