Intel plans to make a splash in the 5G connected devices market by partnering with cellular carriers and hardware partners. The world of 5G is just around the corner and Intel sees themselves as providing the essential processing power that will be necessary to enable devices with 5G connections to reach their full computing potential. In a press release today, Intel stated while at the upcoming Mobile World Congress , they will showcase a live demonstration of 2-in-1 5G devices. Intel on Thursday announced partnerships with a bunch of PC makers out there, Microsoft included, to launch 5G laptops as soon as next year's holiday season.
The news came on the same day when Qualcomm revealed that it'll use Samsung's 7nm chip-making technology for its upcoming 5G modems built into the Snapdragon platform.
