Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales Releasing Next Month On PC, Consoles In December

2 monthes ago   |   By GameInformer

A few weeks ago, Witcher developers CDProjekt Red announced that they were separating Gwent's single-player campaign out from the card game's client as a standalone release titled Thronebreaker. Since details were so scarce, not many expected that the excision would be quite so prompt, with CDPR confirming an October 24 release date for PC and a console release on December 4.
Thronebreaker was developed to be the single-player campaign for Gwent, itself spun-off from the side activity in the Witcher III: The Wild Hunt. According to CDPR, the campaign got too big to simply be a side thing...

2 monthes ago   |   By Android Headlines

In short: YouTube announced today that it is giving YouTube Gaming a new home on its website. Taking it from gaming.youtube.com to youtube.com/gaming. Not a big change, but this effectively means that YouTube Gaming is being pushed back inside of YouTube instead of being broken out, like it has been for the past three years. The YouTube Gaming app is also being discontinued as of March 2019, with all of that content being included in standard YouTube now.
Background: YouTube announced YouTube Gaming back in 2015, this was shortly after Google lost out on a bid to purchase Twitch - Amazon...

Fortnite is not the biggest game on YouTube this year

This year, it's felt like Fortnite has taken over the world: seemingly every teen is playing it, big sports events always have stars doing in-game dances, and even Drake likes to drop onto the island from time to time. When it comes to video content, some of the most circulated and widely talked-about gaming clips tend to be wild plays or funny Fortnite moments. But, don't let the hype deceive you: Fortnite hasn't actually overtaken every corner of the internet.

Google Delivers a Body Blow to YouTube Gaming, to Shut Down App and Set Up New Space for Gaming

2 monthes ago   |   By Phone Scoop

Google today indicated that it is nixing its standalone YouTube Gaming mobile app and will instead house gaming content in a new section on YouTube. The YouTube Gaming app first debuted in 2015 and was meant to compete with Twitch for streamed games. Google found the app simply wasn't the hit it hoped. “We have 200 million people that are logged in, watching gaming content every single day,” said Ryan Wyatt, YouTube's Director of Gaming Content and Partnerships, to TechCrunch. “And the majority of them, quite frankly, are just not using the YouTube Gaming app for their gaming experiences.”...

YouTube to shut down standalone Gaming app, as gaming gets a new home on YouTube

2 monthes ago   |   By TechCrunch

YouTube will no longer maintain a separate app targeting gaming and live game streaming, the company announced today. The YouTube Gaming app, which first arrived in 2015 , will be sunset sometime next spring as its host of features make their way over to YouTube's main site.
