Snap Inc. introduces Snap Kit for 3rd party Snapchat integration

Snap Inc. introduces Snap Kit for 3rd party Snapchat integration

3 monthes ago   |   By Phone Arena

Today, Snap Inc. introduced a new API called Snap Kit, which will allow 3rd parties to integrate Snapchat features into their apps. Snap Kit consists of four sub-Kits: Creative, Login, Bitmoji, and Story.
Now that Snap is allowing 3rd parties to access user data, privacy is of the utmost concern. Snap is addressing privacy by deactivating apps that are inactive for 90 days, as well as only providing the basic data: your username and Bitmoji. And when you choose to share your data, you are sharing only Your data, not your friends' data as well.

Starting today, developers will be able to put a little Snap in their apps. The maker of Snapchat has introduced Snap Kit, a full-fledged developer kit that allows app makers to bring core features of Snapchat to their apps. If successful, the platform could help Snap resume growing again by introducing features like Bitmoji and augmented reality lenses to a wider audience. But first, it will have to convince developers that they can benefit from integrating into their apps, while protecting the privacy of the users who are trusting them with their data.
Developers can now integrate with...

Snapchat launches privacy-safe Snap Kit, the un-Facebook platform

3 monthes ago   |   By TechCrunch

Today Snapchat finally gets a true developer platform, confirming TechCrunch's scoop from last month about Snap Kit. This set of APIs lets other apps piggyback on Snap's login for signup, build Bitmoji avatars into their keyboards, display public Our Stories and Snap Map content, and generate branded stickers with referral links users can share back inside Snapchat. Snap Kit's big selling point is privacy - a differentiator from Facebook. It doesn't even let you share your social graph with apps to prevent a Cambridge Analytica-style scandal.
Launch partners include Tinder bringing...
