Disney names its streaming service Disney+; the Netflix competitior will launch late next year

In August of 2017, Disney announced that it would take on Netflix and offer streamed video content through a mobile app. Today, we've learned a little more about this streaming video app. It will be called Disney+; the name was revealed by Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger, who mentioned it yesterday during a live audio conference call for the firm's fiscal fourth quarter and full year fiscal 2018 earnings.

Some big news surrounding Disney's upcoming streaming service today, with the Netflix competitor getting both an official name and yet another Star Wars episodic series.
