PlayerUnknown's Battleground is a battle royale game which is quite popular on consoles and PC.
The developer opened a new studio in California to make a narrative-driven title set in the same universe.

Call of Duty developer and Sledgehammer Games founder Glen Schofield left Activision at the end of 2018, and we now know what he's working on next. PUBG Corp. has announced Schofield has joined the company to work on the next Playerunknown's Battlegrounds game. The next Playerunknown's Battlegrounds game is in development, the game's publisher has announced. The as yet untitled game is being made by a new studio named Striking Distance, which has appointed ex-Call of Duty and Dead Space developer Glen Schofield as CEO. The project is seemingly in its infancy, so little is known about the game at present.
