The Fortnite Cube Is Dead, And Loot Lake Has Turned Purple

29 days ago   |   By GameSpot

Where past seasons of Fortnite have had the comet and rifts to keep an eye on, the lead up to Season 6 has been headlined by the cube. The giant, mysterious purple object appeared after a lightning strike partway through Season 5, and eventually it began moving around the map at fixed intervals. As predicted, it's ultimately made its way to Loot Lake and sank or melted into the water. The long-term effects of this and what it portends for Season 6 are unclear, but it does have one immediate, very noticeable effect. The water in Loot Lake has turned distinctly purple, a change that's easily...

Fortnite's Cube Just Went Into Loot Lake Before Season 6. Now What?

The saga of the mysterious cube in Fortnite : Battle Royale continues. After destroying a newer building in Tilted Towers, the cube-as fans predicted-has made its way to Loot Lake. There, it sank or melt into the water, altering the makeup of the entire area but without indicating exactly what's next for the game or Season 6. As shown in the video below from YouTube user Laytxn , the slow march of the cube saw its next roll send it into the lake. It begins to emanate a sort of purple shroud into the nearby water, and after a brief moment where it seems as if it may float, it instead slowly...

Fortnite's mysterious purple cube has created a strange, bouncy lake

29 days ago   |   By The Verge

We finally know what happens when a mysterious purple cube comes in contact with water. Fortnite 's cube, which has been traveling across the game's island since late August , just dropped into the scenic Loot Lake, and it's completely transformed the location. The cube is nowhere to be seen; instead, the lake is a huge bouncy pad, rendered in the same bright shade of purple as the cube. You can see it immediately when you drop onto the island.
This isn't the first impact the cube has had on the island. Since it started moving, the cube has created a number of anti-gravity fields, left a...
