The future is here: I can now walk into my apartment and tell Amazon's Alexa voice-activated assistant to turn on my Vizio M-Series television , thanks to a new Alexa skill. In order to get the feature to work, you first need to obviously own a Vizio television that supports Alexa integration. Next, the Vizio Alexa Skill needs to be added to your supported device - in my case, an Amazon Echo. VIZIO SmartCast TVs are getting an official Alexa skill to make controlling the TVs a whole lot easier for those who have any of Amazon's Echo speakers in the home. VIZIO states that the new skill will be compatible with its range of TVs from 2016 and 2017 and will include sets that come from the P, M, and E collections that have SmartCast technology built-in.
