State of Decay 2 Review Rigor Mortis - GameRevolution

10 monthes ago   |   By N4G

It's undeniable that aspects of this game were rushed and there's not any significant jump in gameplay or design from the first game. In fact, in several areas, GameRevolution felt like some of the more unique aspects of the first game have been chopped down to make a much blander package.

Where's Our State Of Decay 2 Review?

Where's Our State Of Decay 2 Review?

10 monthes ago   |   By GameInformer

The review embargo for State of Decay 2 is up, but I'm not quite ready to provide my final evaluation of the game. It's a huge game, with three playable maps and a complex web of interconnected systems to work through. I'm not going to give a score at this time, but I can share some of my overall impressions. Much like its predecessor , it's an ambitious game hamstrung by technical issues.
The game's biggest addition is the introduction of co-op, with up to four players working together online. One player acts as a host, while the others join the cause and help battle zombies and ransack...

State of Decay 2 review - The Walking Retread | Critical Hit

10 monthes ago   |   By N4G

State of Decay 2 isnt really about the zombies. Sure, the small towns youre trying to scavenge your way through are filled with hordes of the undead, and theyre its raison d'etre but its a game about survival. Its less about the lopping off of limbs, perfect headshots and gruesome finishing moves though theyre all present. Its all about learning how to stay alive in the face of an apocalypse.

State of Decay 2 Review | BacklogCritic

10 monthes ago   |   By N4G

BacklogCritic: "State of Decay 2 seems to follow in the footsteps of Sea of Thieves. Its a generally OK game but might not hold the mass audiences attention for long. People who love the game will absolutely love it, but I can see it dropping off just in the same way SOT did. Whether Microsoft continues to support it in the form of a games as a service model, which we anticipate they will do with Sea of Thieves also, it may have some legs. This is definitely another case for making use of the GamePass and seeing if its worth picking up of staying subbed."

Back in 2013 State of Decay arrived on the Xbox 360 as an Xbox Live Arcade title and broke sales records for the platform. In just over a week following its release itd sold over half a million in paid downloads a major milestone at the time. Fast forward 5 years and the follow up, State of Decay 2, is finally here.

State of Decay 2 Review - It's Fun but Bug-Ridden and Poorly Optimised | AusGamers

10 monthes ago   |   By N4G

"The most disappointing thing about State of Decay 2 isnt that its too easy or limited in the base building sense, but with the many performance issues, bugs, and technical problems that plague the release far worse than any Plague Heart could ever hope to achieve. In its current state, State of Decay 2 is best played and only recommended for PC - where the uncapped frame-rate means a smooth experience on a high-end rig. On the Xbox One X, even though the HDR implementation is often impressive, the jerkiness, stuttering, and janky animation all add-up to an experience that needed several...

State of Decay 2 Review - Rough, Yet Fun The Walking Dead Simulator

10 monthes ago   |   By N4G

State of Decay 2 is every bit as fun and rough as the first game was in 2013. It feels like a game that would have massively benefited from additional resources during development given its technical issues, but even so, its core remains unique and fun to play, especially with friends.

Review: State of Decay 2 - Destructoid

10 monthes ago   |   By N4G

From Destructoid: "Let me introduce you to The Refugees. They're a hardy bunch, ten survivors who banded together in an abandoned strip mall. Every member of their post-apocalyptic community brings a little something different to the table. Oscar, or Grouch as he likes to be called, fashions himself as a lawful sheriff, quick to lend aid to other pockets of humanity and always prepared to dish out justice. Terri is a bit of a loner; a former goth teen who's knows her way around a building's plumbing system."

State of Decay 2 review: A journey from disappointment to mindless addiction

State of Decay 2 review: A journey from disappointment to mindless addiction

10 monthes ago   |   By Windows Central

State of Decay 2 is here, but is this game a soulless husk, or something a little more infectious?
I was a big fan of the original State of Decay , and happily revisited it when it was re-released for Xbox One a few years ago. While the game was clunky, suffered from engine troubles, and was middling in scope, it represented something genuinely unique in a genre that continues to be saturated.
There are tons of prominent zombie games on the market. Whether they're open world affairs like Dead Rising or Dying Light, or something more competitive/co-operative like Day Z or Left 4 Dead, each...

State of Decay 2 Review

10 monthes ago   |   By IGN

State of Decay 2's open-world battle for survival against a zombie menace is the right kind of post-apocalyptic fun. It creates plenty of high-stakes moments, punctuated by the relative calm of foraging for supplies while always looking over your shoulder. It's a potent mixture for a while, until the combination of repetitive missions and annoying bugs eventually dulls the joy of squashing heads, even when your co-op entourage rolls deep.
Just like in 2013's original State of Decay , in State of Decay 2 you can freely switch between randomly generated survivors in your post-apocalyptic...
